Walk-In Urgent Care in Livonia

What does walk-in mean here?
Exactly what it says. You do not book ahead, and you do not need a referral from another doctor. Walk through the door at 19920 Farmington Rd, check in at the front desk, and you will be seen that day.
If you’d rather confirm we’re the right place for your problem before driving over, call first, a human answers during clinic hours, and it takes two minutes.
What can you treat without an appointment?
Non-life-threatening illness and injury, which covers most of what sends people looking for care:
- Colds, flu, COVID-19, RSV, sore throat, and sinus infections
- Ear infections and pink eye
- Stomach bugs and urinary tract infections
- Cuts that need stitches
- Sprains, strains, and suspected minor fractures
- Physicals for school, sports, and work
- Lab tests and X-rays, done on site during the same visit
What else do you do that people don’t expect?
The quiet workhorses of a full-service clinic, all on the same walk-in basis:
- EKG (electrocardiogram) when a provider’s exam calls for one
- Ear wax removal
- Nebulizer breathing treatments
- Minor abscess treatment
- Foreign body removal, the splinter, the bead, the thing in the eye
- Splinting for injured fingers, hands, and limbs
- TB testing
- Travel medicine, vaccinations and preparation before an international trip
When should you go to the ER instead?
Call 911 or go to the emergency room for chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms, uncontrolled bleeding, major trauma, or any condition that feels life-threatening. Urgent care exists for everything below that line, and for those cases it is usually far faster and far less expensive than an emergency department.
Do you take my insurance?
Almost certainly. We accept Medicaid plans, Medicare plans, and the major commercial carriers, the full list is on the insurance page. Bring your card and a photo ID; the front desk handles the rest.
How long will the visit take?
It depends on the day, but the entire model of this clinic is built to be faster than an ER for non-emergencies. Exam, testing, and treatment happen in one place in one visit, X-rays and labs included, so you are not shuttled between facilities or waiting on a second appointment.
Questions
Before you come in for walk-in urgent care
The things people ask most often. There are more on the FAQ page.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Serenity is a walk-in clinic: come in, give the front desk your name, and you will be seen. There is no appointment to make and no referral to chase. Two kinds of visit are the exception and do want a booking, because time is set aside for them: IV drips and weight-loss consultations.
How long will I wait?
It depends on how many people are ahead of you, so no clinic that gives you a number on a web page is telling you the truth. Call (248) 482-8809 before you set off and the front desk will tell you what the clinic looks like right now. Walk-in care is generally far faster than an emergency department for the same complaint, because everyone here is a non-emergency and nobody jumps the queue for a heart attack.
Should I go to urgent care or the emergency room?
Call 911 or go to an emergency department for chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms such as face drooping or sudden weakness on one side, uncontrolled bleeding, major trauma, or anything that feels life-threatening. For everything below that line, urgent care is faster, calmer, and a fraction of the cost. If you arrive here with something that belongs in an emergency department, you will be told plainly and helped to get there.
What should I bring to my visit?
A photo ID, your insurance card, a list of the medications you take, and any form that needs signing, such as a school, sports, or employer physical form. If a specialist or another clinic has recent results relevant to your visit, bring those too.
Do you need a referral?
No. Walk-in urgent care needs no referral from a primary care doctor and no prior authorisation. Bring yourself and your insurance card.
What will my visit cost?
With insurance, what you pay is usually a copay set by your plan, and urgent care copays are typically well below an emergency department copay for the same complaint. The exact figure depends on your plan, your deductible, and what the visit involves, so the honest answer is to check your card or call (248) 482-8809 and ask before you come in. Nobody should be surprised by a bill.
