Primary Care in Livonia

What does primary care mean at an urgent care clinic?
It means continuity. Urgent care answers “I’m sick today”; primary care answers everything longer than today: annual physicals, managing ongoing conditions, medication refills, preventive screenings, and having a provider who knows your history instead of meeting you from scratch every visit.
Serenity runs both under one roof. Your records from a Sunday sick visit and your Tuesday follow-up live in the same chart, seen by the same clinic.
What ongoing conditions can you manage?
The common chronic conditions that need steady attention more than they need a specialist: high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, thyroid conditions, asthma, and similar. Management means regular check-ins, lab work tracked over time, medications adjusted based on numbers rather than guesswork, and a referral out to a specialist made honestly, the moment your case actually needs one.
Beyond chronic conditions, primary care here covers the full everyday range: wellness visits and routine checkups, preventive care, medication management, women’s and men’s health, pediatric primary care for kids, geriatric care for older adults, weight management, and help quitting smoking.
Why choose a clinic that does both?
Access, mostly. The classic primary care failure is the three-week wait: you’re sick now, your doctor can see you a week from Thursday, so you end up at a stranger’s clinic anyway. Here the walk-in door and the primary care chart belong to the same practice, when something acute happens, you’re seen today, by a clinic that already has your history.
Do I need to be an existing patient to walk in?
No, walk-in care is open to everyone, first visit included. Plenty of patients meet the clinic through a sick visit and stay for primary care afterward. There’s no enrollment ritual; ask at the front desk about using Serenity as your regular clinic and it’s done.
What insurance does primary care take?
The same list as the rest of the clinic: Medicaid plans, Medicare plans, and major commercial carriers, listed in full here. If you’re choosing a primary care provider through your plan, call and the front desk will help you get Serenity set as yours.
Questions
Before you come in for primary care
The things people ask most often. There are more on the FAQ page.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Serenity is a walk-in clinic: come in, give the front desk your name, and you will be seen. There is no appointment to make and no referral to chase. Two kinds of visit are the exception and do want a booking, because time is set aside for them: IV drips and weight-loss consultations.
What insurance do you accept?
Serenity accepts 21+ plans, including Medicaid plans, Medicare plans, and the major commercial carriers: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, HAP, Humana, Meridian, Molina, Priority Health, and United Healthcare among them. The full list is published on the insurance page. Plans change, so if yours is not listed, call (248) 482-8809 and ask rather than assuming.
Will you send results to my regular doctor?
Ask at the visit and the clinic will arrange it. Coordinating care with other providers is a normal, permitted use of your health information, and it is worth doing so your own doctor has the full picture.
Do you need a referral?
No. Walk-in urgent care needs no referral from a primary care doctor and no prior authorisation. Bring yourself and your insurance card.
What will my visit cost?
With insurance, what you pay is usually a copay set by your plan, and urgent care copays are typically well below an emergency department copay for the same complaint. The exact figure depends on your plan, your deductible, and what the visit involves, so the honest answer is to check your card or call (248) 482-8809 and ask before you come in. Nobody should be surprised by a bill.
