Telemedicine Visits in Livonia

What works well over telemedicine?
Visits where the conversation is the medicine:
- “Do I need to come in?” triage, often the single most useful call
- Symptom check-ins for colds, allergies, and rashes a camera can see
- Follow-ups on an earlier visit, reviewing lab results, checking healing progress
- Medication questions and straightforward refill conversations
- Primary care check-ins for stable, managed conditions
What still needs an in-person visit?
Anything requiring hands, instruments, or imaging: suspected fractures, cuts that may need stitches, ear pain that needs a scope, strep that needs a swab, anything needing an X-ray or a blood draw. A good telemedicine visit is honest about its limits, if the provider can’t assess it remotely, you’ll be told to come in, and the clinic is open 7 days when that happens.
How does a visit work?
Call the clinic to arrange it. You’ll connect with a provider by video at the arranged time, from your couch, your desk at work, or wherever you are. The provider takes your history, looks at what can be shown on camera, and gives you a plan: treatment, a prescription sent to your pharmacy if warranted, or a same-day slot at the clinic if remote isn’t enough.
Is a virtual visit as good as coming in?
For the right visit type, yes, the medicine in a follow-up conversation or a triage question is the provider’s judgment, and that transmits over video just fine. For the wrong visit type, no, and we’ll say so. The point of offering both is putting each visit in the setting it actually needs.
Does insurance cover telemedicine?
Most plans now cover telehealth visits, though details vary by plan. Check the insurance page for what we accept, and call the front desk, they’ll verify your telehealth benefit before the visit.
Questions
Before you come in for telemedicine
The things people ask most often. There are more on the FAQ page.
Do you offer telemedicine?
Yes, virtual visits are available for the problems that can genuinely be assessed on a screen. Anything needing an examination, an X-ray, a swab, or a procedure needs you in the building.
Can I book online?
Yes. Online booking is available for the services that are scheduled rather than walked in, including IV drips, injections, and weight-loss consultations. For everyday illness and injury, walking in is still the fastest route and no booking is needed.
What will my visit cost?
With insurance, what you pay is usually a copay set by your plan, and urgent care copays are typically well below an emergency department copay for the same complaint. The exact figure depends on your plan, your deductible, and what the visit involves, so the honest answer is to check your card or call (248) 482-8809 and ask before you come in. Nobody should be surprised by a bill.
What insurance do you accept?
Serenity accepts 21+ plans, including Medicaid plans, Medicare plans, and the major commercial carriers: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, HAP, Humana, Meridian, Molina, Priority Health, and United Healthcare among them. The full list is published on the insurance page. Plans change, so if yours is not listed, call (248) 482-8809 and ask rather than assuming.
Do you need a referral?
No. Walk-in urgent care needs no referral from a primary care doctor and no prior authorisation. Bring yourself and your insurance card.
